We are a group of students from Portland State University focused on Social Equity in education. What is social equity?
In our case, it is making sure every child has the same opportunities to succeed!
These opportunities are classroom materials, books, musical instruments, science labs, field trips, healthy lunches, etc.
Not every school is able to have access to additional enrichment materials and experiences.
As a Title 1 (high poverty level) school, North Gresham Elementary is one of these.
This is why we have reached out to you, the community!
Classrooms that have an adequate library typically have students with increased vocabulary, spelling, and writing skills.
We greatly appreciate any action you take to help Mrs. McCarthy's 4th graders build their class library.
